This detailed plaque carving depicts Pakal the Great, a famous leader of the Maya city, Palenque. Pacal, or Pakal, was king for 68 years, longer than any other ruler in the ancient Mayan world, and he was responsible for building many of Palenque's most impressive palaces and temples. The plaque has two holes for ease of hanging on the wall.
