Trilobites, are an extinct group of marine arthropods that thrived for over 270 million years, from the Cambrian period (about 521 million years ago) to the end of the Permian (252 million years ago). These creatures varied widely in size, ranging from a few millimeters to over 2 feet long, depending on the species.

Trilobites were incredibly diverse, with thousands of species inhabiting oceans worldwide. Fossils have been found on every continent, suggesting they adapted to various marine environments, from shallow coastal waters to deeper ocean floors. Their segmented, exoskeletal bodies and distinctive three-lobed design make them one of the most iconic and well-studied prehistoric animals.
