Vintage Persian style, black and gold resin Oil Jar with Winged Sphinx and Goose head detailing.

In the 4th century BC, Egypt was ruled by the Persians until Alexander th Great, defeated them and made Egypt part of his empire. After Alexander's death, a Greek general, ruled Egypt from 305- 30 BC, which is known as the Ptolemaic Period. This container, with two wigned Androsphinx, and the heads of gooses which represened the god Amun, may have been designed in the Ptolemaic period, where the Greek craftsman were inspired by the Egyptian art, and combined it with his knowledge

In used and vintage condition.
