A multi-patterned vintage Kuba cloth made by the Kuba people from the Congo. These incredible works of art are woven by hand using very fine strips of palm fibre which are coloured using natural vegetable dyes. Take a close-up look at the weaving and you can see just how much time and skill it must have taken to create such a piece. This example with traditional geometric designs, slightly uneven in shape, measures very approximately 66cm x 50cm. Like most Kuba cloth of this age, there is a small amount of wear and tear and discolouring, but this does not detract from the overall beauty - the design and autumnal colours are captivating.
